These notes should provide guidance on setting up an RSS Feed for the Shows in the Media Library. If you find anything out of date or missing, please inform the support team and we will update and correct as needed.
Website settings
Here are the steps to setup the website default shows RSS Feed settings. This will be used for ALL RSS feeds for shows.
- Open the web module.
- Locate the website where the RSS feed should be created
- Navigate to Shows list > Show details page and expand to display its subpages
- If the page does not exist, and there is no RSS page for shows on the website:
- Create a subpage below the Shows detail page (same level as Episode page)
- Don't add any page preset to the page
- Name the page "RSS", so others will know its purpose
- Click on the 3 dots next to page title, and in the menu "Page Settings"
- Go to the "Advanced" tab, then navigate to "XML Content"
- Outputs XML: Set a checkmark in the box for
- XML Resource: Shows Feed
- Set the Show and Episode detail pages
- Limit: 100 (should be plenty)
- Click on the update button
- When the RSS page exists:
- In the frontend, navigate to the Shows list page.
- Select your show and go to the show detail page
- In the browser address field, you will need to add "rss" to the end of the URL.
- ex: https://www.hopechannel.com/watch/shows/the-rescue/rss
- Tap on the return key or submit the URL, the RSS feed should display.
- You should be able to use this RSS link in Spotify, iTunes, etc.
Next steps
- Check the fields that the show information is correct for what you want to share about the show.
- Make sure that your Show has a podcast image of the required dimensions.
- iTunes currently has a requirement of 3000px X 3000px
- Test the RSS feed with an online testing tool
